Esther was a fantastic witness.

Thanks for sharing, Janie! (Both Night Court and the writer’s strike)

Are you and Paul planning on watching the ACM Awards tonight? I love hearing your country award show takes and this one is happening in my own backyard, so I’m going to check it out and I hope y’all have thoughts on this month’s pod!

congrats on the role recurrence, Janie! and thanks for the solidarity on the line (I 'm still pre-WGA myself but walked out at Disney on Friday afternoon with one of the women from my writers group so definitely honked at the WB crowd on my drive past the lot). i had only been in LA a year when the last strike happened in 07-08 and walked at Paramount back then. great that WGA won coverage for internet in that fight but the streaming boom never actually translated into higher wages and better job security for writers other than the big-name showrunners making megadeals with the studios and streamers. if there's a silver lining for the writers now striking, they've spent the last 15 years learning how to do a lot more with a lot less in terms of making short-term gig payments last as long as they can so there seems to be a collective feeling of "how much worse can it get than the reality we were already living under the current system?" hopefully DGA holds the line in their negotiations this month and the studios see they aren't going to be able to roll them for a better deal this time around. keep the pics coming, they're great

Looking forward to seeing Esther again!

I saw that comment on Insta and I have to say you and Paul were super classy in response. Much respect.

Good luck with the strike! We are all pulling for you here in the flyover states (at least I am ). We value and appreciate what you do in making our lives a little less miserable.

I admit, I didn’t know who you were before you like my note. And I am so thrilled to be following a Night Court player. I seriously watch that show ever week. I find it so comforting. It’s a nice break from the pressures of the day that a lot of other, fancier t-shows doesn’t offer. I was a big fan as a kid and I use to dance to the theme song. I’m excited to see this weeks episode and I’m going to rewatch your earlier appearance tonight. I hope other people are enjoying it too.

Tell Paul that I still tell people about Dead Author’s podcast. I don’t care that they haven’t made one in ten years. It’s in my top ten.

I apologize. I had feelings I needed to express.

It shouldn't take this much effort (multiple times) to get a living wage for one's work. Here's hoping the companies come to their senses soon. Best of luck to writers everywhere! <3

Man I can’t wait to see Esther again. You seriously gave me the biggest belly laughs of the episode!

So good of you to support the strike. I am all for it and hoe everything works out! The greed somehow just keeps getting crazier. No bottom to that pit I guess.

Speaking of which, what’s your opinion of the MET Gala going on during the strike? It’s like the epitome of supreme decadence going on as their fellow artists struggle for their share. I found myself fairly grossed out by it.

I really don’t know much about the Met Gala. For some reason I thought it was a fundraiser? I do think the outfits get very silly. It seems really weird and over the top, whatever it is!!

I like Lil Nas X. But his diamond encrusted makeup makes me physically ill to look at.
