Janie, we watched this today. Definitely worth watching. My partner and I had an interesting discussion about “riot” vs “insurrection”. Thank you for recommending it.
Just watched The Sixth. It's so disturbing to relive that day and know that the gop have tried to whitewash it and the felon who caused it is running for president again. It really is infuriating. Also, the way the news is harder VP Harris than they are on 45! I need to watch something light to wash away the vile and hatred of that documentary. I hope the filmmakers had psychological support for the people they spotlighted.
Thank you, Janie! I am friends with the filmmakers (here in DC) and they have worked so hard to get this film to get traction, including putting on their own premier in DC because none of the usual players would host the event (!). I’m thrilled to see it being spoken about. It is an absorbing film and utterly human. Andrea and Sean put their whole hearts and lives into their films and this one is no different. As a person who calls DC home and was here for the insurrection, the film does provide a little bit of a feel for what it was like for the everyday folks that live and work here. I appreciate you making it known to others.
Thank you Janie for making us aware of this documentary! I absolutely loved the line in your rant, “Which, knowing Hollywood, could be some weird mindset that TRUMPS getting it to as many viewers as possible, as quickly as possible.” TRUMPS is now a verb whose meaning has been completely
recontextualized due to The Tanchurian Candidate. And I also loved that you gave Chappell Roan a shoutout. She is incredible and would make a great VP.

Tell them others are finding the film! It’s so well done.
Thanks! I was not tuned into this at all but will seek it out. Shout out to Kanopy too- an amazing service full of gems.
Thanks for sharing about The Sixth. I'm going to get out through kanopy. I saw through imdb that you can rent or buy it on prime. Thanks
Yes, it’s a tough but illuminating watch! Very well done.
