The Show on Philadelphia was incredible. My sister and I laughed our butts off. Open Mike Eagle and River Butcher were AMAZING guests, couldn’t ask for better. Legitimately one of the best shows I’ve ever been too. Bought a bunch of Merch for me and my wife. Paul you made my whole year. I can’t believe how much fun that was.
I can’t wait to see you on Saturday gaahhhh. I’m flying in from Cleveland and my sister is coming down from New York. She went to Drexel so we spent a lot of time hanging out in Philli. This gonna be such a great weekend!
Any good Atlanta venues for VARIETOPIA? I can pass along to his tour manager. If Charleston isn’t too far for you, he’s booked at Music Farm the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Jesse Thorn and I had a wonderful time playing the (aptly named) VARIETY PLAYHOUSE in Atlanta just before the world shut down. We are aiming to get there again and soon.
That is the most incredible poster I have ever seen. Killing it again as usual, Nathan! Is there any possibility of getting a poster if you’re not at the show?
I’m going to tell this story here! Because Paul, I know you have been clamoring to hear it, I can’t imagine how you have handled the suspense 😜
Once upon a time, I started listening to a podcast I saw posted on a friend’s Facebook wall. It was The Dead Authors Podcast, and I found the host to be smart, funny, quick witted, silly, and intriguing, so I started looking into more of his work.
After my initial surprise that you, Paul, are not in fact British, I came across The Thrilling Adventure Hour and my mind was blown. I was made aware of a bunch of amazing and talented actors. This really was a WHILE ago, 2012, 2013ish? Two notable discoveries you led me to are Ben Schwartz (he was also on Speakeasy with Paul F Tompkins), and Marc Evan Jackson. These two, plus you, are hands down my three favorite actors. I have been following your careers ever since.
Cut to present day, I attended The Two Gentlemen Improv with you and Marc at the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin last year (2022). I loved it of course! This year, at the same festival, I saw Ben Schwartz and Friends, and I got to meet Ben after the show! My partner and I stayed in our seats until the crowd thinned, and Ben just happened to be talking with some friends a few rows over. Moments later it occurred to me that maybe I could have met you and Marc before, had I delayed leaving the theater. I hope I do meet you eventually, as then it will have come full circle.
If you have read this far, thank you for your time reading the longest comment in the world, and thank you for granting me all that you have for over a decade ❤️
Oh my goodness, as much as I typed of course I forgot something!! I forgot to add how happy I am that my extended-PFT-universe now includes Janie, since the start of the pandemic. Janie, before Stay F Homekins I knew of you, just as the stunning lady by Paul’s side in many of his pictures. I am so very glad for the podcast, and this Substack, for getting to know you as an incredible, funny, charismatic, charming, and lovely person. I’ll stop gushing now 🤗❤️

Paul, I know you get mad at stuff like this BUT: any chance you're coming to Atlanta anytime soon? PS Hi Janie!

Seriously considering a trip to Charleston, but it's quite a jaunt. An Atlanta show would be oh so nice.

Good to know! Crossover event?? 😂
This is possibly the best poster for anything I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some cool ones. If the artist sells prints or copies, I’d love to buy one!

Darn, wish I lived in Philly!

I adore the poster art for your shows. Lil'Pauly T is amazing.
This will be like MacArthur returning to the Philippines! Come and entertain us Paul!
I have a ticket for the Friday at 6pm show. Ordered it by accident, don’t need money just want it to go to a PFT fan. Any takers?
