OMG, y'all! Janie plugged If Books Could Kill. One of my favorite podcasts. I cannot get enough of Shamshiri's voice and now also listen to his other podcast 5-4.
I think y'all were leaving out the fourth "square". Square pegs! Square pegs! Square! Square! Pegs! Celestine is just another word for celestial, used by hack writers who want to make their new age garbage sound profound. But from now on, I will only be able to think of "Celestine face".
I loved the topics this ep! Woohoo! Please tell me a watchalong coming soon?!! I feel like you guys teased it a few episodes back, and now I’m curious! That’s why I want this Substack 😅😅
Janie! Omg my former boss on a Nashville morning show won the the HGTV dream home one year when it was on the Puget Sound. She did the whole thing. Went out there and took the pictures and then we absolutely can not take this house. So they took the cash option. Two weeks $1.3 million dollars was direct deposited into her account.
It was crazy. She kept working like nothing happened haha. But they did whole show on her and everything. She told me that her and her husband would have both need to be making six figures to afford to live in the dream home because the property taxes are so outrageous. So they got the cash and a brand new car.
Haha that’s them! I could never get over the fact that she just woke one day and $1.3 million was in her bank account. No real heads up, just like 3-5 business days like it’s some venmo transaction.
I read the Celestine Prophecy as a teen when it came out! I think it was on a best sellers shelf and I thought it looked interesting. I remember the plot being a guy on a journey to Mayan ruins/about the Maya and thinking it was good at first, then at a certain point having the realization, like… oh this is made up, this is some kind of spiritual/religious thing and not a true story. I think it basically concludes with him saying the Maya became so spiritually enlightened that they ascended into a higher realm, and maybe they’re still here but we just can’t see them anymore. I will not do any research to see if what I remember is true! I know I must have finished it but felt tricked
So, I work at the California DMV HQ, unless they’re keeping it a secret from us too there isn’t really one where famous people go specifically. I did have to tell Peter Weller on the phone once that he had to go into the office to renew his license cause he was over 70
It says he bought that in the early 1980s and it didn’t say how much it cost then, I’m guessing $20? NBC bought him a tennis court! WGA on strike and legacy studios bought talent TENNIS COURTS! For a villain lair it is actually cool looking. Lotta lairs very bland. 🤷🏻♀️
No one puts Cuckoo in a corner.
Welp my Friday night plans just changed 😊
Yaaayy!

I started listening last week and finished all of it in like 3 days lol. SO good!!
omg, Paul making the "landlord" comment had me laughing so hard.. #ACAB bby!
Alexa just screamed at me at 6:40am asking if I wanted her to play the Sponge Bob song. Also, the Square Pegs theme song haunts me to this day too.

We will definitely have watchalongs! We are working out when we can record one soon 😀
"The murder house in Los Feliz?" I'm crying.

Of course I’m going deep on the website. They act like they moved into it! Like the location was perfect for them🫢 https://www.hgtv.com/sweepstakes/hgtv-dream-home/2018/articles/hgtv-dream-home-2018-winner-announcement

Not even 8 hrs since I listened and I'm already watching the mysterious case of Natalia grace
"He's like if Joe Exotic worked at a bank."
I can definitely picture this guy.
Johnny had a Bond-villain level mansion in Malibu

Hi friends, the audio seems off on this one Janey was really low in the mix. Just letting you know. Hugs!
Well now I feel like a dum dum. Paul just said that they are trying a new way of recording. Sorry, I’m a big ol’ dummy.
Oh yeah I was going to replace the file with a new mix but it seemed to improve slightly so I held off! So good to know
