Janie on ELECTION PROFIT MAKERS podcast (listen now!)
A quickie post to invite you to listen to JHT (that’s me) on EPM!
Weekend Waterbabes!
Just wanted to share I just sat down with
& David Rees, the co-hosts of the ELECTION PROFIT MAKERS podcast (and friend to the STAY F. HOMEKINS pod, yeah, our pods are FRIENDS, SO WHAT. PODCASTS CAN BE FRIENDS) and my chat with the guys is on their latest episode HERE:It was so fun, we discussed our thoughts on the election and things going on RIGHT NOW.
This is my THIRD appearance on EPM. If you are new to their ELECTION PROFIT MAKERS pod here are a few facts about it:
The co-hosts, David and Jon discuss elections through the lens of the election prediction markets, they are friends from childhood!
They are both from North Carolina and want to turn the state blue next month!
They are GenXers (code for we’re about the same age!)
They are fun!
They are smart!
Their podcast rules!
They are on a text thread with me where we constantly chat about political news and our thoughts about it all. (We eventually added
to the thread so it was more expedient than me just repeating the conversation to him.)
I am pals IRL with the lads, and I had A TERRIFIC TIME talking about where we are these days with the election less than two weeks away and also was SHOCKED by an opinion of David’s (tune in to see where we landed on STUNNING opposite sides of the aisle!)
It’s free to listen, but if you dig their pod, like me & PFT, they also have a Patreon (we subscribe.)
Listen to our episode, sound off in the comments below to be a part of the conversation! We all matter, after all.
AND GO VOTE FOR HARRIS/WALZ.
Hugs & thank you,
JHT
I'm a regular listener, and was excited to see you were a guest! I also enjoyed the cameo from cuckoo.
Some perspective on Real Clear Politics polling aggregate: https://x.com/matthewjdowd/status/1849538661039136856
Some Hopium: There are factors in this presidential election that have not happened before (Dobbs, Jan. 6th) and so aren't part of polling models, which are based on past elections. And gaming the polling aggregators (by flooding the zone with shit) has become part of GOP campaign/fundraising strategy. The good polls have been very stable since Biden dropped out and Harris shot up, with her in the lead nationally and in enough swing states to win. Also, remember 20% of GOP primary voters rejected MAGA. It's likely a majority will vote the same way in the general.
The glass is half full 🤞
