You: Wishing I could see Varietopia hosted by my favorite entertainer, Paul F. Tompkins. Varietopia is a live variety show for the modern age with a full band, surprise special guests, music and comedy and lots of good vibes—
Me: No, yeah, I’m me so I know what Varietopia is. Why do you say you’re “wishing” you could see it? You can!
You: Aw, it’s probably sold out. [You shove your hands in your pockets and kick the dirt; it’s kind of adorable]
Me: Great news! There are still some tickets left for this Saturday’s Varietopia at Lodge Room in Los Angeles, showtime 7pm PST! And we’ll be selling these amazing posters by Nathan Diffee at the venue:
You: THAT’S THE BEST NEWS I’VE EVER oh wait. I live on a remote island in the middle of the ocean. Thanks anyway. [You begin to turn away]
Me: [smiling smugly] How’s your wi-fi?
You: [You turn back, intrigued] Excellent, why?
Me: Well! For the first time ever, Varietopia with Paul F. Tompkins is being STREAMED LIVE from Lodge Room, its home in Los Angeles! And you can get your live-stream ticket HERE.
You: I hope this doesn’t sound hyperbolic but this is the the greatest thing I have ever been told or even heard. I am getting a ticket right away. I want my Saturday night to be filled with entertainment, laughs and good feelings. Where did you say the live-stream ticket link was?

If you’re joining us in person in Highland Park, there’s a fantastic restaurant, Checker Hall, adjacent to the theatre. There’s a bar inside the showroom and lots of fun spots nearby to make an evening of it. The staff at Lodge Room ALWAYS makes our guests feel special. They work hard to please, and our Varietopia stage is in a gorgeous restored Masonic Lodge.

Y'all this show was SOOOO great! Would highly recommend getting the livestream if it's still available.
Paul mentioned that "Thomas" means twin because that the apostle Thomas was a twin. I had no idea about that except that it was the premise of a very recent movie, The Gospel of Clarence! (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22866358/) Lakeith Stanfield (whom I love!) plays the identical twin brother of Thomas. It's....I mean, look, I don't care about people talking shit about things they don't like, but I didn't enjoy it, but it's topical! Just wanted y'all to know.
Barrabas was in Clarence's running crew and had the exact power and origin story of Achilles, and John the Baptist slapped the absolute shit out of Clarence, so maybe it is worth watching? IDK. Anyway hope to hear another Sinead song at this year's St. Paddy's Day V-topia. #StayBlessed
