Hi Weekend Water Barbie!!
We’re still on strike alongside the writers. And as members of the Screen Actors Guild (aka SAG-AFTRA), we’ve been asked directly by our union to release our recap podcast episodes that discuss at length a current TV series by a struck company after a contract is crafted and ratified. We’re still watching and recording the recaps as they happen, they’ll just be released at a later date. Sure, it’s a little less fun to listen to them after the show has been out for a bit. We understand, but this is just where we are right now and appreciate the generous understanding from you, our cherished subscribers. We plan to release bonus content to our paid subscribers in the future that doesn’t undermine our Hollywood strike. Let’s all pray ruuullll hard to David Zaslav’s uptight yacht we get a deal SOON!
Thank you for hanging in there with us! In the meantime, there’s been day after day of heat advisories here in Los Angeles. It’s earth’s hottest month on record EVER. Florida reported ocean water that is the temperature of a jacuzzi.
So, I guess HYDRATE through the tears???
That said, both Paul and me have been picketing alongside our union comrades like nuts to try to get this strike to end! It’s being called “Hot Labor Summer” by participants and the media.
Here’s a few shots of the picket line while we all patiently wait for the strike to get resolved by our heartless corporate overlords. Bob Iger, the suit who runs Disney, said the contract asks by our Hollywood unions are “unrealistic” while he was at an event with a private jet parking lot that is nicknamed Summer Camp For Billionaires.
GREED SURE IS A HELLUVA UGLY ASS DRUG, Y’ALL! I’d love for science to study what amount of money in one’s bank account erases the cognitive ability for common sense thinking. That would be useful data for our collective 2023 existences.
Love,
us
100% supportive of keeping these pods until there's a contract. They're always funny. I don't even watch the the show that is not mentioned.
I hope you're all taking care of yourselves in that heat.
I can wait for recaps. Fair wages and treatment for SAG-AFTRA and WGA first. This strike is important for showing the importance for the importance for fair compensation for all workers, regardless of their industry.
